What is an iSearch paper?

According to Gallaudet University, an iSearch paper is "a personal research paper about a topic that is important to the writer."

So, what is important to me?

I'm writing my paper about the effect of the musculoskeletal system on overall health. I became interested in this topic last fall when I strained my hip flexor taking corner kicks for soccer. My chiropractor had said that an irregularity in my lumbar spine had contributed to the injury. I wondered, what other afflictions could be attributed to the misalignment of bones and/or muscles? At any rate, that is what I hope to explore in my paper.

A typical iSeach paper is not the same as a traditional APA research paper. Here's why:

  • It is usually less formal.

  • It tells the story of the writer's personal search for the information.

  • It allows the writer to reflect upon what they learned

Below, I will include links to any documents pertaining to my iSearch paper in order to archive its completion. This is not only required for my research class, but may be useful should I wish to return to this information when working on my Senior Project.
